HC Deb 24 February 1931 vol 248 cc1959-60W
Major GLYN

asked the Minister of Agriculture what was the total weight of wheat, wheat flour, and of wheat offals, in each case, imported in 1913 and 1930, respectively; and the total weight of each such article exported in the same years?

Mr. W. GRAHAM

I have been asked to reply. The following table shows the total tonnage of wheat (grain), wheat meal and flour, bran and pollard, and sharps and middlings imported into and exported from the United Kingdom during the years 1913 and 1930.

Mr. W. GRAHAM

The answer to the first part of the question is 43. A list of the Treaties and arrangements with particulars of the conditions under which they could he denounced was printed in the OFFICIAL REPORT in reply to a question on 2nd June last by the hon. and gallant Member for Western Dorset (Major Colfox) and a copy is being sent to the hon. Member. The following amendments should be made in the list to bring it up-to-date:—

Add:

  • Egypt—16th February, 1932 (new agreement).

Delete:

  • Honduras—(This Treaty has expired.)

Amend:

  • Rumania—At any time on two weeks notice (new Treaty provisionally in force).
  • Turkey—3rd September, 1935, or thereafter on 12 months' notice (new Treaty).
