HC Deb 24 February 1931 vol 248 cc1957-8W
Mr. RHYS DAVIES

asked the Minister of Health whether any of the valuation results of approved societies recently issued have disclosed such deficiencies as will make it difficult for such societies to meet claims for statutory benefits; if so, how many societies fall into that category and the membership covered by them; and whether they are to be subsidised from any health insurance central funds to make up the amount of statutory benefit payments?

Mr. GREENWOOD

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the other parts, I regret that I am not able to give the information desired by my hon. Friend until the valuation is completed, and the position of these societies in the matter of relief from the central fund has been determined.
