Friend the Member for Spennymoor (Mr. Batey), the sum voted for this purpose has been allocated with the exception of a small sum kept in hand to meet engineering contingencies and provision has not been made for additional grants of this kind.

§ Miss BONDFIELDSince 1st June, 1929, no application for grant in respect of schemes of work for the relief of unemployment has been made to the Unemployment Grants Committee by the Radnor County Council. An application for grant in respect of one scheme, estimated to cost £863, was made by Brecon County Council on 1st August, 1930. A grant has been approved in this case and no other applications are outstanding.
