§ Mr. CLYNESComplete information for the year 1930 is not yet available. In 1929 there were 84 known cases of murder involving 103 victims aged over one year. In 38 cases the suspect committed suicide or died; in 42 cases there were arrests; only in the remaining four cases (one of which involved three victims who were poisoned) was no arrest made. There were also 26 known cases of murder of very young infants, newly-born or of ages up to one year. In 15 of the cases of finding bodies of newly-born infants no arrest was made. In three cases, involving four infant victims, the suspect committed suicide; in all the eight other cases arrests were made.
