§ Mr. SHAWThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part, a claim on behalf of skilled men was answered by letters of 8th August and 26th November last, and a claim on behalf of non-skilled men was answered by letter of 2nd September. These replies were to the effect that on the evidence available the existing wages could not be regarded as less than "fair" within the meaning of the Fair Wages Resolution.
