Mr. W. ADAMSONThere are at present 15 demonstration smallholdings in existence in Scotland. Of these one is owned and worked by an agricultural college. The others are worked by the occupiers under the supervision of the agricultural colleges who pay an annual subsidy to the holders. On other 15 holdings there are small areas on which improved methods of cropping and of fruit-growing are demonstrated under similar arrangements.
