HC Deb 11 December 1931 vol 260 cc2233-4W
Captain ERSKINE-BOLST

asked the Minister of Transport, if before the House rises, and in view of the fact that the police are at present prosecuting motor-coach drivers for travelling between 30 and 35 miles per hour, he will state when he proposes to introduce any increases in the speed limit as affecting these vehicles?

Mr. PYBUS

A speed limit of 30 miles an hour was fixed for motor coaches in the Road Traffic Act, 1930. I have at present under consideration the question of the simplification and amendment of the Schedule of maximum speeds in certain respects, but I have reached no decision. Any amendment of the Schedule would require to be ratified by Parliament.
