§ Mr. KIRKWOODasked the Secretary of State for India whether he is aware that bail granted to one of the Meerut conspiracy case prisoners over 18 months ago on account of his failing health has now been cancelled, despite the filing of medical certificates recommending that the prisoner should not be taken back to gaol owing to his ill-health; and whether he will make a statement as to the general physical condition of the prisoners?
§ Sir S. HOAREThe cancellation of a prisoner's bail is not a matter of which I should normally be informed by the Government of India, and I have therefore no information with regard to the first part of the question. As regards the second part of the question, I will call for a report from the Government of India.
