§ Mr. JOHNasked the Secretary of State for India if any decision has been taken by the Government of India and the provincial Government concerned regarding the place of detention of persons arrested under the recently promulgated Bengal Ordinance?
§ Sir S. HOAREI presume the hon. Member is referring to detenus under the Bengal Criminal Law Amendment Act 2087W and the amending Ordinance issued on 29th October, who are at present detained in camps or jails in Bengal. The question of transferring a certain number of the detenus elsewhere outside Bengal has been under consideration, but no decision has yet been reached.
