§ Sir B. FALLEasked the President of the Board of Trade what steps he proposes to take, prior to the complete amendment of the Companies Act, 1929, in view of the fact that, owing to a flaw in drafting, although the 1929 Act is applicable to subsidiary companies, it is not applicable to subsidiaries of those same subsidiary companies, with the consequence that the provisions of the Act can be evaded by means of sub-subsidiary companies?
§ Mr. POTTERasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in the light of recent criminal and civil court cases, he is aware of the weakness of the wording of auditors' certificates to be given under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1929; and whether he will take steps with a view to the strengthening of such certificates?
§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAMy hon. Friends' suggestions have been noted for review in connection with any subsequent legislation.
