HC Deb 09 December 1931 vol 260 c1881W
Mr. MANDER

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the number of appeals that have been made by the President of the Council of the League of Nations to Japan since the beginning of the present trouble in Manchuria to cease from acts of war and to retreat into the railway zone, in accordance with the covenant and the Kellogg Pact, and the number of assurances which have been received from Japan that this would be done?

Sir J. SIMON

I am not aware of any such appeal having been made in the terms indicated in the question.
