§ Mr. DONNERasked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether any steps have been taken by His Majesty's Government to ascertain the views of the Governments of the Australian States upon the provisions of the Statute of Westminster?
Mr. THOMASThe provisions of the Statute of Westminster Bill have been designed to maintain the existing constitutional position in relation to the Australian States. Steps have been taken both by His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom and by His Majesty's Government in the Commonwealth of Australia to inform the State Governments of the position.
