§ Mr. MANDERasked the Home Secretary if it is proposed to proceed with the erection of the police college at an expenditure of £150,000; and whether he 1517W has received any communication from the county borough of Wolverhampton protesting against the expenditure?
§ Mr. CLYNESA scheme for the institution of a police college is before me, and I have received a number of representations on the subject, including a resolution from the watch committee of Wolverhampton. I am satisfied that there is a real need for some such institution, but I shall not arrive at any decision to adopt this or any other scheme until I am more fully informed as to the views of police authorities, chief officers of police and others who are concerned, and have considered the problem in all its bearings.
