§ Sir C. TREVELYANOn 31st March, 1930, there were 3,283 men and 2,608 women teachers serving in maintained public elementary schools and holding university degrees. These figures represent 7.6 per cent. and 2.1 per cent. of the total numbers of men and women teachers, respectively, in these schools.
