Asman, of 34, Spencer Street, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, has been detained at Broadmoor Asylum for the last seven years: and if he will have a full investigation into the reasons for the continued detention of this man?
§ Mr. SHORTAsman has been detained in Broadmoor as a pauper lunatic, since he ceased to be a criminal lunatic on the expiration of his sentence in 1922, under the authority of Sections 7 and 8 of the Criminal Lunatic Act, 1881, and Section 3S (4) of the Lunacy Act, 1890, as amended by Section 7 of the Lunacy Act, 1891. Usually such a patient would be transferred after a time to a local asylum, and kept at the expense of local funds, but he has been Kept at Broadmoor, with no expense to local funds, because in his case specially safe custody is needed.
