My Noble Friend has read in the Press of a suggestion made by the African Native Association of Dar-es-Salaam that the natives of Africa should be represented before the proposed Joint. Committee, but he has not yet. received the Governor's views on the proposal. As regards the second part of the question, I would refer the hon. Member to the replies given by my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies to the right hon. Member for Stafford (Mr. Ormsby-Gore) on 30th July and to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Central Hull (Lieut.-Commander Kenworthy) on 1st August.
