§ Sir J. LAMBasked the Minister of Agriculture what has been the financial result of experimental and demonstration farms managed or controlled by local authorities, universities, agricultural colleges, and farm institutes, receiving grants from his Department during the last five years, respectively, for which figures are available?
§ Dr. ADDISONThe two following tables give the figures for which the hon. Member asks. Farms used solely for the purposes of research institutes are not included. It is right to add that the farms of which the financial results are given serve the purposes of educational institutions, and as such incur charges in respect of educational and experimental work with which an ordinary commercial farm is not concerned.
