§ Miss BONDFIELDAt 22nd September, 1930, there were on the registers of Employment Exchanges in Great Britain 36,808 women applicants for work in domestic service. Of these 30,737 were applicants for posts as non-resident domestics or charwomen and the remainder for posts as resident domestics in hotels, boarding-houses or private houses. I am unable to make any estimate of the numbers unemployed who are not registered at Employment Exchanges.
