§ Mr. MILLSasked the Minister of Health if his attention has been called to the growing practice of indiscriminate dumping of refuse by certain London boroughs; whether he is aware that the Woolwich Borough Council have operated with success a method of refuse destruction; and if he will seek statutory powers to make destruction compulsory?
§ Mr. GREENWOODI am aware of the practice of dumping and of the method of disposal at Woolwich. To act on the suggestion in the last part of the question would be a retrograde step, for there are several satisfactory ways of disposing of refuse, the best in any particular area depending on local conditions.
