§ Dr. MORRIS-JONESasked the Minister of Agriculture the number of bankruptcies amongst those entirely engaged in agriculture in Wales for the last 12 months for which figures are available; and the number of unemployed agricultural labourers in Wales for the same period?
§ Dr. ADDISONThe number of farmers against whom bankruptcy orders were made by Welsh Courts during the 12 months ended 31st December, 1929, was 33. My right hon. Friend regrets that there are no statistics available as to the number of agricultural workers unemployed during the same period. From reports received, however, from the local officers of the Ministry, it appears1510W that very few regular agricultural workers in Wales were unemployed at any time during the year. Some casual workers were unemployed, but, as far as my right hon. Friend has been able to ascertain, the number was not more than normal.
