§ Mr. BENNI am afraid that the form in which the Military Estimates are compiled does not make it possible to give the cost under these separate heads. The numbers of British officers of the Indian Army in the cavalry, infantry and pioneers are 268, 1,404 and 99 respectively, and of Indian officers holding the King's Commission 29, 68 and 8 respectively.
