HC Deb 16 May 1930 vol 238 cc2218-9W
Sir F. HALL

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury what was the number of temporary ex-service men serving in the Civil Service on 1st April, 1930; and what is the number of such temporary ex-service men who are eligible for permanent non-pensionable status and the number who are not so eligible?

Mr. PETHICK - LAWRENCE

The number of temporary ex-service clerks serving in the Civil Service on 1st January, 1930, which is the latest date for which figures are at present available, was approximately 10,000. No central record is kept showing the distribution of this total between clerks eligible for permanent non-pensionable status and those not so eligible.
