HC Deb 14 May 1930 vol 238 c1892W
Major GLYN

asked the President of the Board of Education if, for the sake of comparison with the instruction given in the schools of this country, he will obtain information as to what are the subjects, and how many hours a week, are devoted to each, that are taught to children of 13 years of age in the State schools of Germany, France and the United States?

Sir C. TREVELYAN

I shall be glad to send the hon. and gallant Member a summary of the information on this subject which has been obtained by my Department. In view of the widely different conditions in different parts of the United States of America, it will be necessary to limit the information in regard to that country to a few illustrative cases.
