§ Dr. ADDISONMy right hon. Friend is aware that in many cases the effect of the Tithe Act, 1836, was to place a relatively greater burden of tithe rentcharge on arable land than on pasture. The liability is on the owner of the land, and is taken into account on the occasion of the purchase and sale of the land. My1460W right hon. Friend does not propose to introduce legislation amending the existing Tithe Acts.
