HC Deb 12 May 1930 vol 238 c1462W
Sir B. EYRES MONSELL

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he has any information as to the importation of German potatoes; and whether any of these potatoes are affected with scab disease?

Mr. N. BUXTON

There has been no appreciable import of potatoes from Germany since September, 1928, with the exception of last July, when 130 tons were imported. This year three tons were imported in January, none in February and March, and 10 in April. These consignments were accompanied by the health certificate prescribed by the Destructive Insects and Pests Order of 1922, and I have received no complaints of disease.
