HC Deb 12 May 1930 vol 238 c1460W
Mr. BEAUMONT

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, in view of the situation in arable farming and of the necessity for farmers to determine their rotation of crops for the forthcoming year as soon as possible, the Government will consider abrogating Section 12 of the Agricultural Credits Acts and substituting a Measure affording immediate relief in the form of credit?

Dr. ADDISON

There are serious objections to the course proposed by the hon. Member, but, apart from this, the state of Parliamentary business would not permit the introduction of a Bill for the purpose of repealing Section 12 of the Agricultural Credits Act, 1928, before the autumn. This Section ceases to operate upon 1st January, 1931, and my right hon. Friend does not propose to take any steps with a view to its repeal.
