asked the Minister of Health if he will state the number of persons in receipt of parish relief in the parishes of Devonport, Plymouth, and Stonehouse, respectively, specifying the various categories, for the month of April, 1930?

Persons in receipt of poor relief are now chargeable to counties or county boroughs, and are not assignable to smaller areas. The following statement shows the number of persons in receipt of poor relief in the County Borough of Plymouth which comprises the parishes of Devonport, Plymouth and East Stonehouse on Saturday, 26th April, 1930:

Institutional relief (including casuals, but excluding lunatics in County and Borough Asylums) 976
Domiciliary relief (excluding persons in receipt of domiciliary medical relief only) 4,831
Total 5,807
