HC Deb 08 May 1930 vol 238 c1149W
Lieut.-Colonel HENEAGE

asked the Postmaster-General when he estimates that the Thoresway postal telephone call office will be set up; and how much private telephone subscribers who used to be connected to the nearest exchange will be charged?

Mr. LEES-SMITH

It is hoped that the Thoresway telephone call office will be working in about a fortnight's time. If an exchange were established at Thoresway with at least eight subscribers, rentals would be in accordance with the standard tariff. If less than eight subscribers were forthcoming the rentals would depend on the cost of providing and maintaining the exchange system.
