§ Colonel ENGLANDasked the President of the Board of Education whether the raising of the school age will in any 774W way interfere with the possibility of applying during the last two years of school life such forms of specialised vocational training as may be most serviceable to industry and commerce?
Mr. MORGAN-JONESMy right hon. Friend sees no reason why the raising of the school-leaving age should limit the possibilities of such vocational instruction as is appropriate for the Children affected. The attention of the local education authorities has been drawn to the importance of providing facilities for varying types of practical instruction for the older children in the schools, and in particular for those who will be retained as a result of the raising of the school-leaving age.
