§ Mr. D. G. SOMERVILLEasked the Prime Minister if he can now make any definite statement as to the convocation this year of the Imperial Economic Conference; and what steps are being taken to prepare the agenda for this year if such a meeting is to be held?
§ The PRIME MINISTERThe question whether there should be an Imperial Economic Conference separate from the Imperial Conference has been considered in consultation with His Majesty's Governments in the Dominions. It has been generally agreed that it would be more advantageous to organise the discussions on the basis of a single Conference, as in 1926, though the economic subjects would, of course, be kept together as a separate section of the agenda. As I have previously announced, the Conference will meet on 30th September; its agenda is now under discussion between the Governments.
