§ Mr. PETHICK-LAWRENCEThe net amount of revenue received during the period from 1st April, 1929, to 28th February, 1930, on motor cars (including complete chassis) consigned from Canada and admitted at the preferential rate of duty was £175,727. To be entitled to the preferential rate, at least. 25 per cent. of the total value of these cars must be the result of labour within the British Empire. No further information is available as to the proportion of the parts of these cars which were manufactured in the United States, nor of the revenue received on cars consigned from Canada but not admitted at the preferential rate.
