HC Deb 21 March 1930 vol 236 c2309W
Mr. DAY

asked the Home Secretary what action his Department has taken following the report of the chief constable of Cardiff with reference to the association of white women with Asiatic or coloured seamen; and can be give particulars?

Mr. CLYNES

My main powers in respect of the subjects dealt with in this report arise under the Aliens Order, and the questions at issue continue to receive the close attention of my Department. All practicable steps are taken to prevent the unauthorised landing of coloured alien seamen and to remove any who are found to have landed irregularly. In proper cases steps are also taken for the deportation of any coloured alien seaman who offends against the law.
