Mr. A. HENDERSONIt has been decided to raise the status of His Majesty's Representative in Chile to that of an ambassador in recognition of the increasing interests both political and economic between the two countries, and in view of the fact that embassies have already been created in Argentina and Brazil with which Chile is customarily grouped as a country of comparable importance. The extra cost to the Diplomatic Vote is estimated at an annual amount of £250.
