§ The ATTORNEY-GENERALWomen magistrates have been appointed to every County Commission of the Peace in England and Wales. There are 251 boroughs in England and Wales which have separate Commissions of the Peace. One or more women magistrates have been appointed to the Commissions of the Peace in 202 of the boroughs. No women have been appointed to the Commission of the Peace for the remaining 49 boroughs, the great majority of which are boroughs having small populations.
