§ Colonel CLIFTON BROWNasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if his attention has been drawn to a case tried at the Guildhall, on 24th February, concerning a married man who, being separated from his wife, was allowed only a single man's Income Tax abatement and was summoned by the Income Tax officials accordingly, and that their summons was dismissed; and if he proposes to take any action in the matter?
§ Mr. P. SNOWDENI have made inquires into this case and I do not think that any action on my part is called for. The primary cause of the episode was the neglect of the taxpayer to furnish information asked for by the Revenue authorities.
