§ Miss LAWRENCEThe Act of 1929 came into operation on 1st October, 1929. The average price of non-parlour houses in contracts approved during the six months ended 30th September, 1929, was £346, and for the four months ended 31st January, 1930, has been £337. The average sizes of these houses are substantially the same. As regards parlour houses, the corresponding figures are £404 and £422, but there has in this case been an appreciable increase in the size of the houses concerned.
