asked the Minister of Labour what increase in unemployment has occurred during the last three months in the silk and artificial silk and motor industries?

Miss BONDFIELD

Between 21st October, 1929, and 27th January, 1930, there was an increase of 7,156 in the number of insured persons unemployed in the silk and artificial silk industry and a decrease of 788 in the construction and repair of motor vehicles, cycles and aircraft. Further details are given in the following table:
