§ Mr. PETHICK - LAWRENCEThe total amount paid in old age pensions in respect of the means pensions under the Old Age Pensions Acts, 1908 to 1924, and the over 70 contributory pensions under the Widows', Orphans' and Old Age Contributory Pensions Act, 1925, to persons of 70 years or over in the calendar year 1929 was approximately £34,020,000.
