§ Sir P. RICHARDSONasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether any part of the Government or municipal debts of Russia have been acknowledged by Poland or Polish municipalities that were Russian prior to 1914; and, if so, what steps are being taken to arrive at a settlement thereof?
§ Mr. DALTONMy right hon. Friend has no information regarding municipal debts, except in the case of Vilna, regarding which there is nothing to add to the answer which he gave on 26th May, to the question by the hon. and gallant Member for Epsom (Commander Southby). As regards the Russian Government debt, liability for a portion of that debt was acknowledged in principle 979W by the Polish Government at the time of the formation of the Polish Republic; but my right hon. Friend is not aware of any further steps having been taken in the matter.
