§ Miss BONDFIELDDuring the Second Reading debate on my hon. Friend's Bill certain important questions were raised. These have since been the subject of examination, and informal discussion with industrial representatives, from which it is clear that further consultation with the Trades Union Congress General Council and the National Confederation of Employers' Organisations is necessary in order to bring any proposals for compulsion into proper relation with the voluntary agreements already in existence and to take into account the various circumstances which need to be considered. I propose to enter into such consultation immediately.
