§ Mr. P. SNOWDENYes, Sir. The trustees state that unless additional funds were made available to them for the purpose, they would not be justified in financing home excavation schemes out of their grant-in-aid, as the objects found would probably be claimed by local landowners and museums, and are in any case likely to be of kinds already sufficiently represented in the British Museum collections.
