§ Mr. BUCHANANasked the Minister of Labour the number of persons who made a claim for benefit under the conditions of the recent Act at each Exchange in Glasgow and the number refused as not being normally in insurable employment?
§ Miss BONDFIELDIf by claims under the conditions of the recent Act my hon. Friend means claims which would not have been made but for that Act, the only figure I can give is the total of such claims for the Glasgow area, which is estimated at 27,300 up to 12th May. As regards particular Exchanges I am having a table prepared, for circulation in the OFFICIAL REPORT, showing the total numbers of claims made and the numbers disallowed by courts of referees under the condition specified.
