HC Deb 04 June 1930 vol 239 c2171W
Mr. DAY

asked the Postmaster-General whether any reductions have taken place in the telegraph staff of the Post Office during the 12 months ended to the last convenient date; and can he give particulars of any further reductions that are in contemplation?

Mr. LEES-SMITH

The number of authorised posts has been reduced by about 60 during the year ended May, 1930. Future staffing adjustments must depend largely upon the trend of traffic, and it is hardly possible to forecast what changes will be necessary.
