§ Mr. JOHNSTONI am not yet in a position to give complete figures for the dates in question. But the figures for the areas in Scotland tabulated in the Ministry of Labour Gazette for May, 1930, show that the number of persons relieved on 15th April, 1930, exclusive of casual poor, lunatics in asylums, registered hospitals and licensed houses and persons in receipt of outdoor medical relief only was 88,770, or 24 per cent. less than in the previous month and 25.5 per cent. less than in April, 1929.
