HC Deb 18 July 1930 vol 241 cc1624-5W
Mr. MANDER

asked the Secretary for Mines what grants have been made to His Majesty's Fuel Research Board during the last two years; and what investigations have been carried out and reports published by it?

Mr. SHINWELL

The amounts expended from the Votes of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research for work supervised by the Fuel Research Board during the financial years 1928–29 and 1929–30 were £77,877 and £84,706 respectively. The estimate for the current financial year is £86,803. The investigations being carried out are described in the annual reports of the Board and of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research as well as in a number of reports dealing with specific results. I am sending the hon. Member a list of the reports published up to date.
