§ Mr. GILLETTSince his appointment in April last as Special Commissioner, Mr. Beale has been engaged in a detailed examination of the position of certain of our trades in overseas markets. His duties, which have necessitated visits to certain industrial centres in this country, have not yet taken him abroad, but it is intended that he should be a member of the proposed mission to the Far East.
