§ Mr. P. SNOWDENThe hon. Member will find figures relating to the total cost of social services in the years 1927 and 1928, and the total Exchequer contributions thereto, in House of Commons papers Nos. 16 of 1928 and 101 of 1929. The estimated population of Great Britain was 44,230,000 on 30th September, 1927, and 44,407,000 on 30th September, 1928.
