§ Mr. GREENWOODThe number of structurally separate dwellings per 1,000 of the population in England and Wales was, at the time of the Census of 1921, 212. Exactly comparable figures for 1911 are not available, but the corresponding figure for that year may be taken to be 215. The figure at 30th September, 1928, must be substantially higher, for more than 1,320,000 houses were erected between 1921 and that date, but complete statistics are not available.
