§ Major GLYNasked the Minister of Transport whether he will consider calling a further conference of those interested in the construction of the Thames tunnel between Dartford and Purfleet and the shipping companies who use the Port of London; and whether he will inquire from the Port of London Authority whether they are satisfied that this project will not restrict the size of ships able with safety to pass up the river at all times after the tunnel has been built on the plans passed by his Department?
§ Mr. HERBERT MORRISONI sent copies of plans to the Port of London Authority on 23rd November last asking for their comments upon the proposal; and although no definite reply has reached me, several meetings have taken place between my technical officers and the staff of the Authority. These negotiations are still proceeding.
