§ Mr. MANDERasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs how many countries have now ratified the Convention for the abolition of the prohibition and restriction of imports and exports; whether it is now in operation: and what reservations, if any, were made by the British Government?
Mr. A. HENDERSONAs regards the first and second parts of the question, the hon. Member will find a full statement 1001W of the position on page 59 of the "Board of Trade Journal" for 9th January, 1930, of which I am sending him a copy. As regards the third part of the question, no reservation was made by His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom, but the signature of the British delegate, both to the Convention and to the Protocol which is referred to in the "Board of Trade Journal" notice, was accompanied by the following declaration:
I declare that my signature does not include any of His Britannic Majesty's Colonies, Protectorates or Territories under suzerainty or mandate.
